Dentsply Cuts 80% of Dealers

Dentsply Cuts Dealers

This September Dentsply International ("Dentsply") cut about 170 of their authorized dealers, leaving only 28 authorized dealers in the USA. The opinions of dentists vary on this topic but some "have definite concerns regarding pricing when only the largest dealers are controlling product distribution" and believe that "small dealers help keep the cost of our equipment down as well because they have lower overhead."

Net32 has a number of dealers that sell Dentsply products. One of them, Carolina Dental, had been an authorized dealer for decades until they were cut in September. You may be interested to read Carolina Dental's letter to their dentist customer base regarding Dentsply's recent actions.

Another authorized dealer that has sold Dentsply products through Net32 for over 8 years was chosen as one of the 28 to continue as an authorized dealer. Soon after Dentsply's decision the dealer requested the removal of all Dentsply products for sale from www.net32.com amounting to 1741 line items. Why do you think that the dealer made that choice?
