I use this bur to start many procedures including crown measurement cuts,
I have had a very high percentage break off at the neck in a routine usage.
One break occurred when prepping a lateral incisor access for a root canal.
I returned the bag for credit but I didn't feel the product was good quality.

Bur #557 easily fractures under minimal pressure, leading to a challenging situation where I struggled to retrieve the broken tip from inside the patient's mouth before the risk of ingestion. This experience has caused considerable stress, and I am dissatisfied with the product. Not recommending

I am the first one who tells you:" Be realistic", " you get what you pay for" So my expectation was very low and I consider burs as single use. But the quality would not allowed to finish 2-3 fillings at once. Literary you start using new bur and already feel that it is not cutting properly. As a result I decided not to use them as there is risk of overhitting. By the way, they don't even stick to magnetic bur holder. That say a lot of quality of steel used.

This bur has broken numerous times when it just touched the tooth of filling material. It has broken 5 separate times today on 3 different patients.

Just as great as Midwest burs, fraction of the cost..

Over half of the burs used during restorative procedure broke at the neck, dont try and cut any metal with them, it will not work.

Over half of them break the first second I use them. Even when removing composite. I am scared to use them if it breaks and patient swallow the piece.

I wish I could sent a picture... I used 6 burs on one patient on a virgin tooth with decay... Not only do the snap at the neck but they are dangerous as they go flying... I've ordered before and a few break but this pack is beyond ridiculous!!!

These burs made in Poland are terrible. Very dull and does not cut well, several have fractured during tx. I have purchased "Midwest type" burs from net32 before and they used to be pretty good.

The 1557 burp come in a clinic pack of 100 for under $100 dollars. Other companies are charging nearly double for the identical product. Burs are sharp and work properly.

Way higher quality than schein brand

This have the individual plastic cover on each bur. Much more sharp then the ones that don't. Beware of the bulk pack without the individual plastic covers. Update: LV no longer sells 557 with plastic ocvers. House brand is very dull and waste of $$$.

These burs cut through amalgam and metal very well. These are my standard daily use burs.

one time use only and even then sometimes the bur head detaches while using and is a choke hazard. Also, rusts as soon as autoclaved if want to reuse.
