Saliva absorbents from top brands like NeoDrys and Dri-Angle are specifically designed to be even more comfortable for patients than cotton pellets are. They are designed with a non-cutting poly barrier so that the soft edges of the absorbents fit comfortably in a patient’s oral cavity
Whether you’re shopping for saliva absorbents or disposable dental supplies, the Net32 dental marketplace has it all. Our product offerings are always sourced from top-leading vendors and listed at affordable prices, so you don’t have to sacrifice quality for savings.
Saliva absorbents act as cotton roll substitutes for certain dental procedures and are used to control saliva production and the risk of parotid saliva contamination. Saliva absorbents provide a dry field for the dentist to complete the dental work. Depending on the design, saliva absorbents can be used for collecting saliva produced by the sublingual and submandibular glands, or provide complete coverage of parotid opening, as well as the entire buccal mucosa.
High-quality saliva absorbents won’t leave any loose fibers or other residue in the mouth, making them a suitable cotton roll alternative. Additionally, the soft edges of the absorbents fit comfortably in a patient’s oral cavity.
Dri-Angles are a cotton roll alternative used in the parotid area to restrict the flow of saliva. Dri-Angles with silver are coated to provide an even greater moisture barrier for patients who are especially heavy salivators. You will find both plain and silver-coated Dri-Angles on the Net32 dental marketplace.
Saliva absorbents can be used as cotton roll substitutes because they are made with a flexible, tapered design that can accommodate any cheek movement.
Cotton rolls are used to absorb patient saliva during treatments such as placing sealants. However, cotton pellets can leave much to be desired; saliva absorbents are much more durable and effective.
Saliva absorbents are dry, easy to work with, and stay in one place for a long period of time. The shape of the absorbents is flexible so that it can conform to the shape of a patient’s cheek or sublingual area, while a cotton pellet tends to move around. High-quality saliva absorbents are designed to stay in place, but can easily be removed with water spray, if necessary. Their biggest benefit is that it takes a while for them to become saturated with saliva, which provides you with plenty of time to work within the patient’s oral cavity without it getting in the way.
