I use a diode laser to remove extra tissue in the line of impression material but a small layer to traxodent and it stops the bleeding very well. Much safer than cord with a soak of liquid astringent but if you are scanning a prep, be aware that it will stop bleeding but won't displace tissue so any abraided areas or high gum lines, will need laser treatment first.
