2/15/17from Metairie, LAprofession DentistBest anesthesia availableI have used this product for 17 years now. I have never had an issue with it. When it first hit the market, Malamed was adamantly against its use for nerve blocks, due to purported increased risk of paresthesia (he's since recanted). The product had been available in Canada and Europe for a decade before it was approved by the FDA for use here, and there were hardly any incidences of this problem there. In reality, Lidocaine has more reported cases per year of paresthesia, which is simply due to how much of it is used every year in the US. Nevertheless, I've used this for virtually every injection for procedures of longer duration (crowns and root canals), including the IA block, and have not had a single case of paresthesia.4 people found this helpful.
